Jobs in Ireland
Welcome to The Great Irish Job Site. The following is a list of links and resources from this site, and from helpful websites all over Ireland. We have a Jobs Bank that is updated on a daily basis with the newest Job Vacancies. We aim to be the best Jobs Portal in Ireland.
Tipperary Jobs – Ireland Employment
Tipperary has a vast array of small towns, the largest being Clonmel, where there is a good selection fo manufacturing companies, including the Bulmers Brewery. Boston Scientific Pacemakers, the Eltex Factory and Merck have also production facilities in Tipperary.
Kerry Jobs – Ireland Employment
In Kerry, many of the Jobs are in the tourism Industry, with hotels, restaurants, bars and tourist attractions being the main employers, especially since the recession hit. In the current economic climate, and given the virtual cessation of any and all building in Ireland, it is hard, if not impossible to find secure employment in Kerry during the winter months. Careers such as sales, specialist jobs, medical employment, and of course, tourism are still a viable option when searching for work, the latter being more of an option during the tourist season.
Cork Jobs – Ireland Employment
Cork, like Kerry is going through a severe economic downturn, especially in the building and manufacturing sector. Many workers are being laid off, both in Cork City, Mallow and around the County. Kostal, near Mallow is one company that is laying off workers, but here are many others. West Cork and areas like it will be effected even more. Although its heavy reliance on the tourist trade might be a huge advantage.

Tipperary Jobs – Ireland Employment
Limerick has been blitzed with layoffs in the manufacturing sector, with Dell being the biggest disappointment in a long list of business casualties in and around Limerick City. Its announcement of a loss of more than 1500 jobs has literally been the death nail of so many companies that fed off its massive financially backing. Times are hard when it comes to employment in Limerick.
Clare Jobs – Ireland Employment
In Waterford, we have seen the temporary closure of Waterford Crystal and the subsequent in-house strike by workers. Dungarvan and towns like it will be gravely effected by the downfall of Waterford Crytal, although it seem to be on the mend, some bit, after being bought and re-sized. Like the rest of the country, there was also a massive building bust in Waterford, with the loss of hundreds of Jobs. Hotels and restaurants, we well as supermarkets and medical/specialist work are some of the only Jobs one sees offered.

Wexford Jobs – Ireland Employment
Wexford is a county that relies heavily on tourism. It also relied heavily on Waterford City, as many workers drove there for jobs. The Ferry Port at Rosslare Harbour and the many tourist towns in and around Wexford may still be offering employment, especially coming up to the tourist season.
Clare Jobs – Ireland Employment
Shannon Airport and many factories around Clare, still supply a good share of employment, and as such, they haven’t witnessed the mass layoffs that Limerick or Dublin have seen. Tourism is still a huge industry, especially in the more towns and villages like Kilrush. Ennis still supplies a fair share of non-skilled labour. Sales is another area where it still may be possible to get a job.
Galway Jobs – Ireland Employment
Galway City was once a pretty decent place when it came to looking and getting a Job. But now, them days seem to be gone. Jobs and work in the Tourist Trade can still be found with The Galway Bay Hotel and many other massive hotels in Galway City still needing workers during the tourist Season. Galway has been greatly effected by the decimation of the building industry so it is advised not to go there looking for work as a carpenter or in any trade. The University seem to be always searching for Lecturers and the Hospital still advertises for medical workers such as specialist nurses.

Sligo Jobs – Ireland Employment
Braun still has a Factory in Sligo, as do many world renowned names, but time will tell if that will remain the case. The West of Ireland usually has massive unemployment rates compared to the rest of the country, and the recession has been very hard on the economy and workers of Sligo.
Mayo Jobs – Ireland Employment
In Mayo, just like Sligo, they have been struggling to bring in the big employers for years. The ever-increasing passenger numbers in Knock Airport does help, but large companies are still reluctant to base themselves so far from a major city where transport costs soak into their profits. On the plus side, Mayo has a pretty big tourist industry and employment can be obtained during the summer. Agricultural, computer and sales jobs are also still available.
Donegal Jobs – Ireland Employment
Donegal is a county that has Dulux and Readymix as its main two employers (there are many more factories but here are the large employers). Again, the building bust has seen unemployment shoot through the roof, with the likes of Readymix feeling the pinch when it comes to delivering cement to building sites.
Roscommon Jobs – Ireland Employment
Roscommon has Elan as one of its main employers, with tourism and agriculture making up many of the part-time and non-skilled labour. Roscommon does not get a huge influx of tourists like its neighbour Galway, and so relies more on Agriculture and the building industry. Agricultural, teaching and Medical work is nearly all one sees advertised in the West of Ireland.
Monaghan Jobs- Ireland Employment
Virgin opened a pretty big factory in Monaghan to make its soft drinks, and there are also large multi-nationals such as Bose and Nordbrook still based here. It is 1-2 hours from Dublin and has a lot to offer companies who are looking for a low-cost alternative to Dublin.
Ireland Employment - Carlow Jobs
One word springs to mind when one thinks of Cavan, and that is Quinn Enterprises. Quinn direct insurance, cement and a whole other array of industries, including healthcare is still in a pretty healthy condition compared to many companies in Ireland. Cavan also has a pretty big agricultural industry, with seasonal work being offered between March and September.
Meath Employment - Carlow Jobs
Meath’s employers including Pickering Lifts and International Paper. There is a huge tourist industry in Meath, owing to its rich heritage and culture, with the Hill of Tara and Kells being the main tourist hubs. Again, this is a county that is close enough to Dublin to be a viable option for companies, even in a recession.
Offaly Jobs – Ireland Employment
Offaly and Birr has seen its fair share of layoffs recently, especially in the building trade. The midlands had an even bigger building spree than some other parts of the country. Offaly is known for its agriculture and manufacturing sectors, with Boston Scientific in Tullamore being one name that springs to mind.
Westmeath Jobs – Ireland Employment
Tyco and Ericsson have their Irish operations in Westmeath and Athlone is a pretty bustling tourist town. Athlone is one of the busiest towns in the whole of Ireland, with a steady stream of small business and tourism being the main source of employment. Athlone is also one of the best towns in Ireland to reside.

Has the Gold gone out of Ireland?

Louth Jobs – Ireland Employment
In the past, companies such as The Royal Bank of Scotland and ABB Paper Ireland brought huge numbers of Jobs to Louth and in particular to Dundalk. Given the current state of the banking sector sector in Ireland, the Royal Bank of Scotland, which is seen layoffs worldwide, is not a stable bet for Louth.
Laois Jobs – Ireland Employment
Laois is a county that has benefited massively from being so close to Dublin. The investment in good roads and transport from Portlaoise to Dublin has made a big difference. Companies like Eaton, MBNA, Kinetics and Standex has all set up base here. Jobs in Sales are still being advertised the most, as is tourist related jobs in Portlaoise.
Kilkenny Jobs – Ireland Employment
Kilkenny and the midlands in General has many factories that seem to be doing alright, given the current economic climate. There are also many Hotels and Golf Course in and around Kilkenny city that need workers for the tourist season. Years ago, Kilkenny was the Coal Mining Capital of Ireland, and who knows? Somebody might star it again – anything is possible in this recession.
Carlow Jobs - Ireland Employment
In Carlow town, there is still a pretty big small business community that supplies a faur amount of employment. Bars and Hotels provide much of the part-time work. Job prospects for most are pretty bleak, but factories such as De Laval, Hydro Hoist, IMOFA and Thermo Air Technology are still based in Carlow.
Dublin Jobs – Ireland Employment
Dublin, not so long ago, was epicentre of the Celtic Tiger. It was much easier to be employed than it was not to find a Job. Every where one went there was employers searching for folk to become part of their growing enterprise. Sadly, those days are gone…possibly forever.

Dublin Jobs – Building and Construction
Still, as far as Jobs and Employment goes in Dublin and Ireland, there are still vacancies in many industries. It all depends on what one is looking for. Finance, banking and manufacturing jobs are pretty thin on the ground, although Pfizer, Facebook and many others, including Google, Microsoft and Sun still seem to be hiring, which is amazing given the current climate. The massive building boom that was part and parcel of Dublin, has all but vanished.
Kildare Jobs – Ireland Employment
Intel and many other factories decided to base themselves in Leixlip, just outside of Dublin, so there are still many manufacturing jobs, especially the closer one gets to Dublin. Naas and Leixlip have an abundance of industries and factories such as Control Techniques Ireland, Intel Ireland Jobs and Recruitment and Irish Polythene Ltd.

Wicklow Jobs – Ireland Employment
Bray, in County Wicklow is basically a suburb of Dublin, and as such is very much reliant on how Dublin’s economy is doing. There are hotels and small businesses in Bray that supply much of the local jobs. There is also the summer tourist trade and manufacturing sectors all across Wicklow that includes Better Health Ireland Ltd, Rehan Electronics and Takeda Ireland.
Leitrim Jobs – Ireland Employment
Leitrim has an ever-growing tourism industry, with Carrick-on Shannon being the main port-of call. The Carrick-on Shannon chamber of commerce also works hard to promote new business, especially small business, which is so vital to the smaller counties in Ireland.
